Clinical Instructor - Integrated Emotional Support Manager/Coord
Position Summary
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Master's Prepared Manager/Coordinator for the new Integrated Emotional Support Program at the UNC Medical Center. The Integrated Emotional Support Program will bring together the existing complimentary emotional support programs and operationalize the piloted 1:1 Peer Support program so that there is a visible organizational presence with a goal to increase all support programs' utilization and demonstrate organizational commitment to a culture of respect and intent to "improve the experience of providing care". The Manager/Coordinator is responsible for the assessment, planning, and coordination of the integration of existing programs through partnership with the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) liaison, the Critical Incident Stress Management Team (CISM) leaders and 1:1 Peer Support volunteers. Goals of the partnerships are to increase accessibility and utilization of emotional support options. The position is also responsible for organizing as needed 1:1 Peer Support volunteer training, biennial CISM training, administratively supporting CISM interventions, providing Medical Center staff education and awareness programs, and systematic monitoring of service through the creation of new utilization documentation and reporting. Additionally the position will not only be one point of contact for directing those seeking emotional support to options, but will also receive CISM training and participate as an on-call CISM volunteer in rotation with other volunteers as needed for directly providing and assisting in the provision support services (individual and group).
Educational Requirements
Applicant must hold a master's in Nursing, Public Health or Health Care Administration from an accredited school.
Qualifications and Experience
Must have at least five years of health care experience and experience running an emotional support wellness program within the last five years.
