## Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The University of North Carolina at Greensboro supports students with intellectual and developmental disabilities enrolled in Integrative Community Studies (ICS), a four-year certificate course of study that emphasizes higher education, self-determination, community inclusion, career development and independent living. Students completing requirements for graduation receive a certificate awarded by The Office of the Provost at UNCG. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate academic supports for students within the Integrative Community Studies program offered by the Office of the Provost that reflect inclusive participation in University coursework, as well as provision of instruction and academic support to prepare students with knowledge necessary to live fully in their community of choice after graduation.
## Position Summary
The Transition and Life Planning Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of the Life Planning division and instruction of its related curricular components. This position works in partnership with other key divisions of the ICS program of study to support students and families. This leadership position is designed to shape and foster maturing student and family relationships, contributing to student retention, positive student outcomes and family satisfaction.
## Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a Master's degree in a related area of Education or Human Service field; or a graduate of a college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a related Education or Human Service field, with 3 years of post Bachelor's accumulated experience with Individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Flexible work hours are required to meet the student needs. Work schedules require flexibility to meet student needs by varying times of day and days of week as needed. This position is required to work an on-call schedule.
## Preferred Qualifications
Experience with higher education with the population is preferred. Experience with transition support services or family engagement/support are preferred.

* Instruction of Life Planning coursework focused on college transitions, and preparing for life after graduation
* Facilitation of Family Information and Education Sessions
* Assist with the development and update of program materials including program procedures and staff and family training materials.
* Develop and facilitate informational presentations in the form of orientation and program related webinars, conference seminars, and consultations (that support the Program Mission, the Program Objectives, and the Anticipated Student Outcomes consistent with the philosophy of the program)

* Consult with families for problem solving and adjustment to their changing role through continual review of current literature and use of promising/evidence based practices.
* Manage an efficient family communication system for questions, concerns, and feedback
* Follow-up on individualized consultation until any problem issues are resolved and report relevant information to the Director of Operations .

* Work with researchers (evaluators) to analyze results of data collected for trend tracking, problem solving and sharing of information with relevant others toward quality improvement.
* Provide program leadership and quality improvement through literature review and evidence based practice studies to shape and foster a Life Planning division resulting in student retention, positive student outcomes and family satisfaction.
